menorah.jpgOne Long Island lawmaker is working to make sure your menorahs and Nativity scenes are protected this holiday season. Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy and Police Commissioner Richard Dormer plan to announce a plan to deter vandals from desecrating religious displays.

Levy said such despicable acts are the antithesis of what the holiday season should be about. He said the police department will monitor holiday displays and even use video surveillance.

He said if someone is caught trashing one of them, they can expect to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.(wnbc)
